Introducing Ohio Houses of Prayer (O-HOP)
In October of 2005, during a WHOP initiated week of 12 hours of prayer, Robyn heard the Lord say, “I’d like to show the nation, through Ohio, what it is to be a Statewide House of Prayer.” One thing Robyn has learned is that the Lord is looking for those who will agree with Him through prayer that His Kingdom would come and His will would be done on earth as it is in Heaven. So, at that moment, she agreed, “Lord, I don’t know how you’ll do it, but do it…so be it unto us in Ohio according to your will!”
In 2009 an initiative began through Pastor Tim Sheets, at the direction of His brother, Dutch, and a fellow minister, Chuck Pierce. The men were sensing the Lord wanted to build a firewall of prayer around the state of Ohio for the nation, and began to organize the effort through the Ohio Reformation Prayer Network. It was during this time they too, began to sense God’s desire to establish a statewide House of Prayer in Ohio. Each participant in this initiative was to take a week of 24 hour prayer. WHOP signed up for the week of August 30, 2009. It was on this day that BURN 24/7 Community Prayer was launched in Wilmington and to date, this week of prayer has not ended! Praise God!
HIStory continues…On November 2010 a group of 6 Ohio Houses of Prayer met at the Roberts Centre in Wilmington Ohio to prepare for Onething Ohio. Onething is a youth & young adult conference held annually at the International House of Prayer in Kansas City, MO. WHOP was asked to hold what they call a “regional”, but as they prayed, they felt God’s prompting this was not a regional but a statewide gathering. The gathering, Onething Ohio, was to be held on August 19 & 20, 2011.
Preparations continued as these 6 Ohio HOP’s met monthly to pray and plan toward Onething Ohio. Month by month the meetings grew, as other Ohio HOP’s and ministries got the word, and “HOPped” on board. Relationships were fostered, ministry to one another was taking place, encouragement and strength was coming to the Ohio Houses of Prayer. Onething Ohio was a success with hundreds of volunteers and 1500 people in attendance encountering the Lord. In November 2010, God birthed O-HOP! To date 26 Ohio HOPs and ministries continue to meet together monthly for encouragement and to pray for God’s heart for our cities, state, and the nations of the earth! Our goal is to make these Ohio HOP’s and ministries available to you on this page.
